Why would you start a blog in the first place?! I’ll tell you why, either you want to see what’s like to receive free samples or admiration in the comments… or you are told to start one.
Oh, yes, sorry, there’s another reason: because you just want to write different things and let people know your opinions about it. I know and see for myself, that blogging is not the same today than it was a few years ago.

In regards to the monetization, well things get complicated. Because even if you see some bloggers making money from it or receiving some free stuff, it’s not that simple. So if you want to start a blog just for the money, I’m afraid you should be looking at another area.
Why I started Blogging?
Because I’m studying PR & Communications and I’m kind of tied to this blogging world. And before I go to a job and not knowing what to do, how to work with WordPress or bloggers, I said I’d better start now to familiarize with this big community. And yes, I am the “producer” of the blog. Take pictures, edit, write, promote talk with other blogger, companies, etc. , you name it! I love it.
Why should you invest in a blog?
Now come some of my discoveries and not, they were not a secret, but I discovered it myself, you know?!
1.Monetisation and affiliate programs.
You can make money by placing ads on your blog, working with companies to say something about a product or sign up for some affiliate programs. Just talk about products (related to your blog and tested by you), put your affiliate link next to it and *poof*, you get a small commission, if people buy from that link you gave them. But, again, this take some time (usually months, if not years).
2. Job opportunities.
I’ve heard people, that companies approach them with job opportunities, because they know how to maintain… let’s say all of this social media. Of course a blog can serve also as a proof, that you know how to write.
3. You get to write better.
If you plan to have a career in the “writing world” you have to know how to write. And here I can say, that I truly evolve after writing on my blog. Yes, even after a few months, I see the difference!
4. Feel like writing a book?
You can “test the waters”, by realising a few chapters and see how people react to it. I did that, and it did not work for me, but I still write to that book, I like to write, so if you want to read more of it, just let me know.
What other motives do you know for starting a blog?
